Revd Carolyn Cohen

Carolyn was born and grew up in Melbourne. After completing her schooling Carolyn spent a year as a jillaroo in Rutherglen Victoria. She qualified as a midwife and worked at a number of places in Western Australia before moving to Dunsborough. She continued working as a registered nurse part time at a nursing home in Bunbury. Carolyn trained as a missionary with the Church Mission Society (CMS) and served as a ‘house mother’ for children at the Murray Christian School near Islamabad in Pakistan. In 2006 she became ordained as a Deacon 2006 and her role included serving as a chaplain at a nursing home in Mandurah. Seven years ago, Carolyn became the Parish Deacon at St George’s and her responsibilities include steering the work of the pastoral care team, leading Bible Study groups and conducting home visits. She loves living in ‘this paradise’ called Dunsborough and enjoys swimming frequently, cycling daily, gardening, reading and spending time with her nine fantastic grandchildren whom she loves to spend time with, specially at the beach.
