Fifth Sunday of Lent

Message from the Rector

We continue with our pilgrimage and journey of the spirit, reflecting on Christ’s time in the desert by paying close attention to his Galilean ministry; for it was after spending forty days and nights in the wilderness that our Lord began his work of teaching and healing. In Nazareth, the town where he grew up, and in the village of Cana, the site associated with Jesus’ first sign, we are reminded of the associated joy and challenge of family life. Yes, in Nazareth the Son of God grew up and experienced life as a member of an earthly family, which means that the notion of Mothering Sunday we marked last week has clear resonance with Christ childhood in that historic town.
